Beacon benefit soup line

The Beacon Benefit Soup Line is today at the Scottish Rite Temple, 110 S. Main St, from 11 to 7 p.m. The fundraiser is the biggest event of the year for the agency which provides low-income families in Bourbon County with food and clothing for low-income families.The Young Professional League, for the first time, is in charge of the event.

YPL Community Service Chairwoman Megan Felt said more than 40 area churches are helping sponsor the event with donations.

Felt said for $5, attendees can get a “hearty” bowl of either beef-vegetable or chicken noodle soup, a drink, and a dessert of choice that includes homemade pies and cakes. Tickets will be available at the soup line.
